The Software of All

There is a backroom in most organizations now where the so-called magic happens.

Where algorithms are composed and compiled and which is getting increasingly hard to penetrate.

The systems being used to direct this work, which is increasingly esoteric as it is constantly altered and manipulated by thought, grow equally sophisticated with each new iteration of the daily build.

Is it math-driven logic, or logic-driven math?

I have seen virtualized operating systems of all shapes and sizes, physics simulations to rival the gods of yesteryear, mass databases of telecommunication and access control security information that quantifies all manner of seemingly random human behaviour into discreet tables, and where is the Batman?

That is: at what point does reality bleed into science fiction, and even into comic book grandiosity?
